             ~White Star Creeper~

White star creeper forms a dense spreading mat of small bright green leaves.  Small, round red berries follow bloom.

Bloom: Starry, white flowers from late spring through summer.  Small, round red berries follow bloom.

Habit: 2-3" tall x 18-24" in 1-2 years with reasonable care, roots down as it spreads so will spread indefinitely.

Exposure: Full sun to part shade.

Site:  Plant in somewhat rich, well drained soil.

Spreading rate:  Fast.

Uses:  Attractive as a ground cover, between stepping stones, or in rock gardens.  Companion plant with Corsican Mint for a pleasant fragrance in pathways.

Fertilizing:  Feed in early spring and again lightly in early fall.  Use a balanced fertilizer, preferably one containing a slow release nitrogen source.  Always follow the manufacturer's label recommendations when making any applications of fertilizer.  Be sure to rinse the fertilizer off the foliage.

Watering:  Regular summer water should be provided the first couple of years to ensure good plant establishment and to promote maximum growth.  After that, water as needed.

Pruning:  Prune as you wish to control height and shape.

Foot traffic:  Tolerates foot traffic.

Hardiness:  0° to 10° F.
